Nissan Leaf nearly sold out it debuts

Nissan Leaf almost sold before it is launched

The Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt are the hot car releases this year. The Leaf is the more exciting of the two, as it is an all electric car. By December of 2010, both vehicles will be at a dealership perhaps near you. The business started taking advance orders, however rather than only moving a fraction of the inventory, all advance order slots for a Nissan Leaf have filled up. The first release will only be in a few states, so do not feel too cheated.

Nissan Leaf is sold like hotcakes

The Nissan Leaf is kind of a big deal. It is the first completely electric vehicle from a major automaker. Nearly each other green vehicle that is offered is a hybrid, such as the Toyota Prius or Honda Insight. According to the New York Times, Nissan offered consumers the chance to reserve a vehicle in advance. That was in April. Nissan has put available a demonstration test fleet. The goal was to spread word of mouth, and get the reservations full by December. That will apparently not be necessary. The goal was for 20,000 reservations by December, which has presently happened. The goal was met a full three months ahead of schedule.

Leaf absolutely nothing close to chance

The plan made sense. Demonstrate an electric automobile, and boost demand enough over time that 20,000 people want to book one when it comes out. Nissan is already touring with a demonstration Leaf or two around the country, however at this point it seems nearly unnecessary. You will find already 20,000 reservations, and the vehicle comes out in December. In December, the Leaf will only be released in Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington State. After the very first launch, Texas and Hawaii get the cars in January 2011. Then the Leaf will spread like a virus to everywhere else. It will be accessible nationwide by the end of 2011.

Cannot leaf this opportunity alone

The way from the future, inevitably, will be electric and hybrid cars. That isn’t all. Eventually, crude oil deposits will run dry. More individuals want to cut their emissions and gas consumption while driving. Vehicles for instance the Leaf will become the rule, instead of the exception.
